Thanks to a local Italian grant new interesting importing tools to help interfacing SCS with Tekla Structures and automatical design are being developed. |

From a customer survey it came out the automatic design is the preferred feature of SCS - Steel Connection Studio. Check it out yourself in the
videos section but it is just incredible how SCS can take all the data from a file of Staad Pro or Sap2000 (or
Tekla Strutures or Etabs or others), group all the similar joints, propose a type of connection, build the file, import the loads then autodesign plates, bolts, welds,
stiffeners, all packaged in simple sketches ready for the detailers. And a complete professional report for your calculation note.

Aisc seismic provisions implemented in some modules

Complex braces now solved directly inside a new module

The new SCS release allows engineers to quickly solve problems of brace connections: a new module let the user choose the type of connection (say end plate, shear tab, clip angles or other) between the column and the system composed by the beam and the gusset plate,
taking automatically care of distributing the forces from the brace and the beam to the parts of the connection, according to the chosen method (Uniform Force Method or other). Please note that the brace can now be even a pipe or an I/H shaped section!

Technip, Fluor, CB&I, Hidada and Danieli among SCS users

We are happy to announce that Technip Italy, Technip Malaysia, CB&I Netherlands, Fluor Philippines and Fluor USA are now SCS - Steel Connection Studio users. Not only engineering companies chose SCS though, also fabricators like Hidada or Danieli, among others, embraced Steel Connection Studio. Trust was won showing SCS versatility (flexibility in design and available codes) and good interaction with other tools like Staad, Sap2000 and Tekla.
SCS will be exploited for connection design in challenging projects around the world.

CSI Italy and CSI Portugual also reselling SCS

CSI Italy and CSI Portugal, resellers of Computers and Structures products like Sap2000 and Etabs will now also sell SCS, helping covering their market areas (Spain included).
Since SCS is very well integrated with Sap2000 the partnership is very promising. Don't forget to also check out (link below) CSI Italy product VIS that deals with concrete design according to Eurocode.

Tekla Structures link now available

Now 7 modules of SCS direcly export and import to and from Tekla Structures. The work flow is really nice for the engineer: import loads from Sap2000 or Staad (or Excel or input by yourself), design your connection and
optmize it, then export the geometry directly into Tekla (or Autocad or print the sketch for the detailer). Otherwise if the Tekla model is already built, import geometry (and even loads if present inside Tekla) and check the connection.
If any change needs to be made, send corrections back to Tekla or print the elegant Word report with all the formulas and numbers. Don't forget that any task can also be automated and personalized by using SCS APIs.

Web server license and IS800 LSD (Indian)

SCS release 14.1 now available includes the possibility of buying a 'web server license', which allows users to open the same license from multiple locations (checkout and checkin through the internet) if not simultaneously.
New release also includes IS800:2007 LSD. The code is on sale for a special cheaper price than the other standards.
Canadian code CSA S16 will be also available by the NASCC in Toronto (March 26th to 28th).
Your SCS trial already expired and you can't test them? No problem, download the new trial, install it and write an email to us requesting an extension of the demo: we'll send a code to have 7 extra days available in your demo version.
